Studies and references

A recent study found that curcumin led to a decrease in general cholesterol values as well as in the values of LDL. In parallel, it indicated an increase in the values of HDL type cholesterol. It was found that Curcumin also had a favourable impact on fatty liver . (J Food Sci 2011 Apr;76(3):H80-9)

In a clinical study from 2012, the efficacy of curcumin was studied compared with anti-inflammatory drugs customarily used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. The group receiving curcumin showed high efficacy in relation to the control group, and this without significant side effects. (Phytother. Research Volume 26, 11,2012)

In a clinical trial it was found that curcumin inhibits the development of certain types of cancer, including colon, stomach, duodenum, skin and breast cancers. Curcumin also proved effective in treating active prostate tumours. (Mol Cancer Ther. 2004Jul;3(7):803-12)
